SuReLab | Academic Research Laboratory for Sustainable and Resilient Regional and Tourism Development participated in the two-day informational event organized by the Region of North Aegean in collaboration with the UNESCO Hellenic National Commission, held on 22–23 June 2026 in Chios, Greece.
As part of the event, Dr. Maria P. Doumi, Associate Professor at the Department of Tourism Economics and Management and Director of SuReLab, presented the opportunities for linking Chios’ tangible and intangible cultural heritage with the sustainable and resilient tourism development of the destination.
SuReLab’s participation highlighted the importance of the integrated utilization of local resources, the strengthening of the culture–tourism nexus, the enhancement of the primary sector, and the adoption of innovative, green, and resilient practices for the development of Chios as a modern and sustainable destination.
