Collaborations

The collaboration established under this Memorandum of Understanding, extending across all areas of activity of the contracting parties, is implemented through actions such as (indicatively and not exhaustively):

• The organization of scientific Lectures, One-day Conferences, Seminars, Conferences and other scientific activities
• The production of publications and editions
• The joint organization and delivery of training seminars and educational programs on tourism matters, to be carried out through the University of the Aegean’s Centre for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (KE.DI.VI.M.), when required, in accordance with Article 48 of Law 4485/2017
• The collection, analysis and dissemination of data to support future research
• The implementation of research programs in all relevant fields of the Laboratory’s scientific domain
• The promotion of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• The provision of advisory services on planning and management matters across all relevant fields of the Laboratory’s scientific domain
• The implementation of research protocols on matters of mutual interest, for the benefit of the contracting parties as well as the broader university and local community
• The joint implementation of national and European programs and the conduct of studies relating to tourism
• The promotion of actionable ideas and innovative services to public sector policymakers, enabling them to share their research interests and activities and to be informed about new methods in the field of sustainability and resilience, so as to cope with and thrive in a changing world
• The strengthening of strategic partnerships and the reinforcement of the Laboratory’s relationship with local government authorities and other local bodies, in order to address critical/vital problems
• The development of collaborative volunteering activities and educational visits for the benefit of the contracting parties as well as the broader university and local community
• The provision of information (statistical or other data) to undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Department of Tourism Management and Economics for the completion of their thesis or dissertation, respectively, on matters of common interest
• The hosting by the Municipality of Chios of intern students of the Department of Tourism Management and Economics, School of Business Sciences, University of the Aegean
