SuReLab | Academic Research Laboratory for Sustainable and Resilient Regional and Tourism Development organized an educational visit for students of the University of the Aegean to Oinousses, which took place on 21 June 2026.
The activity involved students from the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport and the Department of Tourism Economics and Management, as well as the participation of SuReLab Director Dr. Maria P. Doumi, Associate Professor at the Department of Tourism Economics and Management, Ms. Anastasia Ntoumi, Laboratory Teaching Staff Member, and Ms. Eirini Chavranli.
As part of the visit, educational tours were conducted at the Merchant Marine Academy of Oinousses and the Oinousses Maritime Museum. The programme also included a meeting with the Mayor of Oinousses and a guided tour of the settlement.
The educational visit highlighted the importance of linking academic knowledge with practice, enhancing students’ understanding of islandness, maritime heritage, culture, and the prospects for sustainable tourism and regional development.
