EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY | “Sustainability of Special Interest Tourism in Agios Georgios Sykousis”

Members of the Sustainable and Resilient Regional and Tourism Development Laboratory (SuReLab), along with students of the Department of Tourism Economics and Management, participated on Wednesday, 4 December 2024, in an educational activity entitled “Sustainability of Special Interest Tourism in Agios Georgios Sykousis” in Chios. The activity was initiated and organized by Ms. Maria Ntoumi, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department, and Ms. Panoraia Poulaki, member of the Department’s Teaching Staff.

The students of the Department were hosted by members of the Cultural Association “Agios Georgios Sykousis” and visited the business of Mr. Nikolaos Kilis, “Ta agiorgousika of Chios.” During the subsequent discussion, participants were informed about the dynamics of primary sector products in Chios and their potential connection with the tourism development of the region.

The educational activity was sponsored by the Municipality of Chios and supported by the Deputy Mayor for Development, Entrepreneurship, Shipping & Tourism of the Municipality of Chios, Mr. G. Christakis.

Students were accompanied by faculty members Ms. Georgia Papadopoulou, Mr. Vasilios Ismyrlis, and Mr. Konstantinos Chryssafis.
