Members of the Sustainable and Resilient Regional and Tourism Development Laboratory (SuReLab) of the Department of Tourism Economics and Management organized an event entitled: “Local Production Meets Tourism: SuRe Lab of the University of the Aegean, Vrontados Gymnasium, and 11th Gymnasium of Ioannina ‘walk’ through the Kampos of Chios.” The event took place on 19/5/2025 at the Michaleio Building, within the framework of the action plan “From School to Community: Collaborative Learning for Sustainability,” under Axis 7 “School and Community.”
The programme was coordinated by the teachers Nikoletta Georgiadou, Melina Kostidi, and Stathis Tomazos. The students were accompanied during their visit to the University facilities by Mr. Stavros Steiros and Ms. Melina Kostidi.
Representing the Sustainable and Resilient Regional and Tourism Development Laboratory (SuReLab) were Ms. Maria Ntoumi, Associate Professor, Director of SuReLab and Chair of the Department of Tourism Economics and Management; Mr. Iason-Nikolaos Koufodontis, Assistant Professor in the Department; Dr. Xenophon Stambelos, Chemist Ms. Antigoni Maistrali, Tourism Entrepreneur, Economist, PhD Candidate in the Department and Ms. Argyro Koutsouradi, Entrepreneur, Agronomist, PhD Candidate in the Department.
The members of the Laboratory support initiatives that strengthen the connection between the academic community, schools, and local society, promoting collaborative learning and sustainable development.
